Specialized engineering timber and packaging for the defense sector

Polish manufacturer with 25 years of experience. Timber from State Forests (PEFC), our own kiln-drying facilities, IPPC (ISPM-15) certification, and NATO NCAGE code. We execute deliveries for the Armed Forces, WOG, and engineering units.

Engineering materials for field fortifications

We supply wooden materials meeting the technical requirements of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland (SZRP) – from round timber intended for the construction of dugouts and trenches, through structural lumber, to transport packaging in accordance with NATO standards (MIL-SPEC).

Engineering Materials

Round timber – Poles and logs

Coniferous round timber (pine, spruce) sourced directly from State Forests, with PEFC certification. Each diameter class corresponds to specific engineering applications in field fortifications of the SZRP.

Ø 6–10 cm
Pegs for fortification barriers, supports for light structures, anchoring stakes for nets and entanglements.
Ø 10–12 cm
Elements for trenches and firing trenches, frames for light dugouts, vertical posts for palisades and field fences.
Ø 14–16 cm
Roofs for trenches and communication corridors, load-bearing beams for terrain obstacles, reinforcements for firing positions.
Ø 18–22 cm
Protective screens, roofs for heavy dugouts, load-bearing elements for field shelters and strongholds.
Ø 26–30 cm
Anti-tank obstacles (dragon's teeth), anchoring piles for heavy obstacles, main load-bearing logs for permanent fortifications and shelters.

Structural Lumber

Lumber and square timber for fortifications

Class I and II sawn pine timber, kiln-dried to a moisture content of ≤20%, with stable dimensions and high mechanical strength – ready for use in fortification construction.

Boards for dugouts

Boards 50 mm and 70–80 mm

Planking for temporary bridges and crossings, heavy dugouts with earth cover, foundations and floor sheathing for shelters. The 70–80 mm thickness is used under heavy loads and for burial.

Square timber for shelters

Square timber 100×100 mm to 160×160 mm

Vertical posts for shelters and dugouts, frames and racks for field bunks, load-bearing frames for firing slits, ceiling beams for covered passages and command posts.

NATO NCAGE Certificate Makodrew

What is the NCAGE number?

NCAGE (NATO Commercial and Government Entity Code) is a unique, 5-character identification code assigned to commercial and government entities by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency). It is the standard for supplier identification in the logistics systems of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Mako-Drew has been assigned an NCAGE number, which means that we are listed in the official NATO supplier registry and are authorized to:

  • Participate in tenders for the Polish Armed Forces and NATO allied forces
  • Execute deliveries directly for Military Economic Support Units (WOG)
  • Issue documentation in the NATO standard (forms, specifications)
  • Be identified in the logistics systems of the SZRP and allied forces
Additional Processing

Timber Impregnation and Protection

Upon request of the contracting unit, we provide additional protection for engineering materials.

HT Processing

HT Thermal Treatment (IPPC ISPM-15)

All engineering timber can be subjected to certified thermal treatment at a temperature of 56°C for a minimum of 30 minutes, in accordance with the IPPC ISPM-15 standard. It eliminates pests and fungi, allows for international transport, and each piece is permanently marked with the IPPC mark. HT treatment does not alter the structural strength of the wood.

Fire retardant impregnation

Class S Fire Retardant Impregnation

Optionally, we offer Class S fire retardant impregnation, compliant with NRO (Ministry of Defense Norms) standards, which increases the fire safety of fortification structures. The impregnation is carried out by dipping or spraying, achieving a fire classification of B-s1, d0 – limited combustion, minimal smoke production, no flaming droplets. Used in the construction of field shelters, command posts, and ammunition magazines.
