What is fumigated lumber?

Standard pallets

Wood prepared for export

Fumigated lumber consists of structural timber, boards and battens heat-treated at 56°C for a minimum of 30 minutes in a professional drying chamber. The process eliminates pests and pathogens hidden in the wood structure, making the material meet phytosanitary requirements in international transport.

Each element receives a permanently branded IPPC mark with the country code PL, our plant number and the HT (Heat Treatment) mark.

Frequently asked questions about fumigated lumber

Do plywood and OSB require IPPC?

No. Plywood, chipboard and OSB are usually exempt from the IPPC marking requirement because the wood is processed and the manufacturing process naturally eliminates pests.

What documents will I receive with the lumber?

We attach an IPPC certificate in Polish and English to each batch of lumber.

What is the lead time?

We usually process standard dimensions in 2–3 business days. Custom cross-sections and lengths usually require 5–7 days. Plus 1–2 days for transport.

Is there a minimum order value?

We can sell even 1 piece, however, due to preparation and documentation costs, the minimum order value is usually around 1000 PLN net.

Does HT treatment weaken the wood?

No. HT heat treatment preserves the full structural strength of the wood – we do not use any chemicals, only controlled temperature in a drying chamber.
